UL/Togo National Debate Championships 2022 : Changing Togo’s Narrative

Ever since its first edition in 2016, the Togo National Debate championship has made tangible progress. It has been able to send young togolese debaters to the Pan-African University Debate championship (PAUDC) in Ghana, Zimbabwe, Cameroon, and Botswana in 2015 & 2019, 2016, 2017, 2019, and 2021 consecutively.  This year, TNDC is here with the sixth edition of the Togo National Debate Championships held at the Université de Lomé. This competition has gathered about twenty eight teams from seven universities across the country and with two preliminary matches already played, 9th August was the opening ceremony of TNDC 2022 at the auditorium of UL.

With the support of the university, demonstrated by the presence of the Vice President of the université de Lomé, Prof Komlan BATAWILA, and professors from the English Department represented on the panel by Prof Pamessou WALLA, the 6th edition of TNDC was officially launched.  Thus it's TNDC's top priority to send winners of this year's tournament ('22) to the Pan-African universities debate championship(PAUDC) in Nairobi, Kenya.

Togo is hosting the Pan-African Universities Debate Championship next year (PAUDC LOME 2023), dubbed (PAUDC NUTIFAFA 2023). We look forward in working with all stakeholders involved.
